Noise can be more than just an annoyance with some vacuums. Models that scored a poor rating in our noise tests produced the 85 decibels. Noise levels of this intensity require wearing hearing protection when operating such noisy equipment. Seek out units with a noise rating of well below 85 decibels for use in the home.
